Oak Hill United School Corporation — 2026 Referendum Tax Bill Impact

On November 3, 2026, voters within Oak Hill United School Corporation will consider an eight-year operating referendum to help maintain educational programs and services in their schools.

Recent changes to Indiana property-tax law under Senate Enrolled Act 1 (SEA 1) have changed how property taxes are calculated and reduced the taxable assessed value used to generate local school funding. The proposed referendum has a maximum authorized rate of $0.3332 per $100 of net assessed value and a maximum annual levy of $1,627,112.

Because of the new deductions, credits, and other changes to Indiana's property-tax system, looking at the referendum tax rate alone does not show the full effect on an individual property owner's tax bill.

This calculator estimates how the proposed referendum, if approved, would work together with the new property-tax deductions and credits in 2027 and 2028 using your property's actual tax information. You don't have to guess your assessed value, deductions, or current tax rate. The calculator uses official property-tax records from Grant and Miami Counties. As the property-tax changes under SEA 1 take effect, the School Board plans to phase in the referendum rate, using a rate of $0.1479 in 2027 and a projected rate of $0.2461 in 2028, rather than immediately imposing the maximum authorized rate of $0.3332.

The result allows you to compare your estimated 2027 and 2028 property-tax bills with your actual 2026 tax bill and see how the statewide tax changes and the proposed referendum could affect your property.
